How Many Dogs Can You Get on a Dog Fence System?

What if the wire is buried with 2 or 3 feet of snow. Will it hurt the operation?

ADMIN – Hi Dave,

The system will work fine through the snow. As the snow accumulates you need to increase the boundary width, by turning up the “field strength” dial up to compensate for the snow. Then as the snow melts in the spring you need to turn it back down.

I think that I like the Innotek 4100 better, but my dogs are borderline in weight. I have a Cocker Spaniel and a mini Snauzer. Do you think this system will work for them ? And how do I get an Additional collar ? Thanks

ADMIN – Hi Trent,

Twelve pounds is a good cutoff weight between the Innotek 4100 and the PetSafe Little Dog Fence. When unsure, I always start with the Innotek, put the collars on the dogs (with the system off) and see if they are comfortable after a couple of hours. If they are uncomfortable, we can switch out the systems for you and you can do the PetSafe Little Dog.

Extra collars are available for all the system on the configuration screen. (Once you click add to card, you will go to another screen that gives you the ability to add additional accessories like extra collars, boundary kits, twisted wire, lightning protection module, indoor/outdoor zones, etc)

Is there a fence that I could use for a little dog around 15 lbs. but also for a boxer around 60 lbs. Do I just need different collers?

Admin-Hi Sandra,

Absolutely, The best system would be the PetSafe Little Dog PIG00-10773. You will use the included collar for the little dog and bundle in a PetSafe Deluxe collar for your Boxer. The PetSafe Little Dog has Independent Correction Levels; therefore, you will able to adjust the correction levels on both the collars for each dog. The PetSafe system can cover up to 25 acres.
